A reunion 4 years in the making… New England’s favorite house music DJ trio Groovefire come together for a very special SoundSessions event at STATE.
It was almost a decade ago that the three house music DJs met in Newport, Rhode Island and Groovefire was born. Together, Todd Hanna, Phil Jakob and Mike Hoska quickly ignited New England's clubbing scene with their unique blend of funky and funky-progressive house, electro and breaks coupled with their uncompromising creed to turn every room they played into an absolute party.
It wasn’t long before Groovefire was playing sold out clubs in Boston, Providence , New York City, Washington DC , Miami , Montrealand Mexico. They earned residencies at such renowned clubs as New York’s Sullivan Room and Boston’s Rise. They were members of the coveted Balance Record Pool. Groovefire’s annual party at the Winter Music Conference is legendary. Groovefire played along side many of the world’s most respected artists, such as Deep Dish, D:Fuse, Hatiras, Dirty Vegas, and Steve Porter.
As producers, Groovefire has releases on Little Mountain Recordings, Release Records and Unsound Logic Records. Their productions appeared on mixes by the likes of Sander Kleinenberg, D:Fuse and others. DJ D:Fuse has said of the trio, “Groovefire throws down some of the best tag team sets in the nation. Funky, fun, house, a taste of progressive, and always a kickin’ bassline for the floor.”
That fun, funky energy earned Groovefire a huge following of fans – fans that will surely be filling the dancefloor when Groovfire reunites on July 24th.
